Hello World!

Hello! I'm Candace, or Candy as some call me. I started up this blog to share photos and ideas with family and friends. I wanted a creative outlet so I found blogging might do the trick for me. I have always loved photography! And for Christmas my awesome Dad gave me a fancy DSLR, Nikon D90! He also enrolled me in an online class through BetterPhoto.com to learn how to use the functions of my new camera. The class was great! In as little as 4 weeks (reading lessons about an hour and a half each week, and taking practice photos for 2 hours 2 days out of my busy week) I have greatly improved my skills and learned more about how to use my camera to take great photos than I ever would have if I tried to learn on my own. I believe photos are an expression of the soul. Great photos showcase a person's interests in life or images that catch their creative eye. It is also a great way to take special moments in life, and make the memory of them last forever. These images can create emotional responses in the viewers; amazement, wonder, sorrow, peace, happiness, ect. This is what I hope to accomplish. But I still have a lot of learning and practicing to do. So please stay with me to follow my journey to becoming a photographer. I have also always wanted to be a writer, but felt I needed some creative practice before trying to create anything big. I figure blogging would allow me to practice some creative writing skills that I haven't worked on since since college. I hope one day to produce art, in photography and writing, that I will cherish and those around me will enjoy.
